In ICON's bioanalytical laboratory in Assen we have the Thermo Fisher Quantstudio 7 Flex real-time PCR system to measure DNA or RNA (after a reverse transcription step). We extract nucleic acids using kits from liquid samples or tissues after homogenication either using manual extraction or extraction using the KingFisher robot.
Assays can be run for PK purposes, but also for biomarker assays. The assays are always validated for their intended use following relevant white papers and regulatory documents.
